O.M.G.

I just found stainless steel silk yarn.  Stainless steel core wrapped in silk.  When you crochet or knit with it, it holds its shape.  And it's BEAUTIFUL.  Because it's a wrap, you get little sparkles of the steel like little bits of glitter.  The black is amazingly beautiful, the steel is like little stars shining through.

I haven't drooled like this since the first time I saw Dean tied to a tree.  God.

I could make a stainless steel scarf.  I could make a stainless steel RAT!  I could make a stainless steel TOWEL!!

I....I....I'll be in my bunk, mkay?

:D Little exited, aren't we? ;) OFC it sounds like you have the reason for it.

And Den tied to a tree. M-M-mmmm. *cue the drool*

Ahem -- I'll be in my bunk too.

I LOVE having something new to work with--there are just so many possibilities. I discovered that the same company also makes a stainless steel core wool wrap and a copper core bamboo wrap. I just ordered a skein of the silk--it's $12 per .5 oz!!
(that would make it $96 for a skein the size I normally buy) but each skein has nearly 300 yards. I'm gonna try it out, see what I think before I order more.
I'm already thinking about attempting to felt the wool wrap--that would be so cool. But first the silk. Any thoughts on what I should make? My husband kinda wants a scarf, but it's the middle of summer. I'm thinking about trying a corset--you could leave out the boning, which would make it so much easier to make and wear.....
AHHHH so many possibilities I feel like my head is spinning lol.
