Eyecon pretty much sucks

I think it's a safe bet that I won't be attending any more Eyecon conventions.  First Jared and now Misha have cancelled, leaving me having a paid a shitload of money for the priviledge of sitting on a couch instead of a cushioned seat and the best I can get from Kenny is that if he is still in business come September, he'll be happy to work something out with me.  Of course, my husband will shit bricks at the thought of me going to yet another convention.....and the whole thing is a giant if anyway.   So I'm basically just out all that money.

The cocktail party was horrible and boring; they switched from open bar to cash bar after the first half hour with no warning, meaning that I paid $65 for two drinks.  The hotel resturants are a joke--it took an hour and a half to get an order of nachos and 3 margaritas for me and my roommates.  Who are now pissed at me because I want to leave early.  They seem to think I should be thrilled to have paid all this money for basically nothing.  And there's no color printer at the hotel, so I can't print out Sandra's picture, plus I left my cast picture at home, so I can't get it signed.  Oh, yeah, that doesn't really matter, because Misha is the only one who hadn't signed it AND HE'S NOT HERE!  So I guess it's just as well that I didn't risk getting it messed up. 

On the other hand, everyone likes my t-shirts. 

This weekend officially sucks.  I'm pissed off and sad and I can't even get out of here because there's no place to go without taking a cab and I don't want to spend the extra money.

to be completely honest with you.....that sounds like every other convention out there. nothing really sounds different. the cocktail parties are never worth it, i stopped going to it by my second convention because it's too fucking expensive to drink there anyway.

although Creation is the worst, however they're the only ones who are pretty good about keeping their guests.

i honestly think that there should be refunds avaliable for any of these conventions. it's a huge "fuck you" to fans when they dangle people like Jared and Misha infront of their faces, and then months later say "well they're not coming......but you've already paid us a few grand, so it doesn't matter anyway"

i'm sorry you had such a shitty time tho, that really sucks. in those situations, it's the other fans that usually make the con actually enjoyable.
