Jul. 23rd, 2009 09:55 pmSurprisingly, I have really been enjoying my vacation for the most part. The beach was a lot of fun--we went without my sister the third time and her kids had a blast (she's just a teensy bit overprotective) and so did Rowan. We got to swim with some huge schools of fish and I discovered that underwater photography is best left to the experts lol.
Rowan got to play with her cousin Taylor's bunny, which I'm sure means her pleas for a bunny of her own will be renewed when we get home sigh. But I have to admit, it was really cute and soft and not filthy and nasty the way I remember pet bunnies being when I was a kid. Her Sunday school teacher, Miss Barbara, gave her a new webkinz for her birthday next month, bringing her up to 49. She's already told me she wants to have 60 by the time school starts, so she can have the most in her class. My response was she better start working then, 'cause that's a lot of extra chores.
Tomorrow we are going to visit my grandparents again and help them do some yardwork and clean up work around their house and garage. I am NOT looking forward to it. I know there are giant spiders out there waiting to pounce on me (I know you think I'm kidding but I'm not. I still have nightmares about the summer I lived out there.) and probably rats and snakes too. I WILL NEVER LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AGAIN. NEVER. I can't really think of anything I like that has more than four legs or less than two, except the occasional thing that I eat, and if I never see a six inch spider again I'll be quite happy. Plus they have no internet or cell service. Sorry, twit-friends, you will just have to get along without me tomorrow.
So. On the one hand, I can't wait to get back to my own home and my own computer and drive my own car. But this trip turned out not to be quite as bad as I'd feared. My stepfather and I managed to ignore each other the whole time and I only got into one argument with my mom (she thinks all stem cell research is evil and should be banned). But overall pretty good. Maybe I won't wait two years for my next visit.
PS: It is so, so wrong that after a week of living with my parents I am absolutely CRAVING hot filthy wincest with tons of dirty sex talk and top!dean. I have missed you so much, bb!
